整体设计思路

文本内容主要是介绍鲨鱼被人类因为鱼翅汤被大量猎翅,通过数据和事实展现鲨鱼的濒危情况。环保组织和政府已经在保护鲨鱼,反对猎翅,最后呼吁人类拯救鲨鱼。

本课的教学围绕保护鲨鱼主题,课程遵循阅读,思考,表达流程进行设计。首先通过一段可爱的鲨鱼宝宝视频,引起学生情感上的共鸣,也一改鲨鱼在人们眼中以往的惊恐形象。紧接着借鲨鱼之口引入文章的话题,为接下来的阅读文本做铺垫。

其次,通过浏览文章找出每段主旨大意,再次细读文章,找出文中相关事实细节。在此过程中,通过图片和语言描述引发学生思考除猎翅外造成鲨鱼濒临灭绝的其他原因,如海洋污染。在理解整篇文章的内容后,引导学生对本篇说明文的结构用what,why,how来进行建构,并找出文章的目的是号召人们保护鲨鱼,从而让学生对说明文这一文体进行感知。

读后阶段着重鼓励学生小组合作提出更多可以帮助鲨鱼的方法,并通过角色扮演体会鲨鱼的情感,进行表达,帮助学生形成自己的批判性思维和正确的价值取向,渗透对学生的情感教育,提升学生的英语语言能力和思维品质。

Step 1 

Before Reading (Warming-up and Lead-in)

1. The teacher plays a short video about a cute baby shark

2. The teacher sings the letter about finning from the baby shark and ask students to sing it together.

1. The students watch the video about the baby shark.

2. The students sing the letter with the teacher.

 

To build up a relaxing atmosphere and arouse students interest in sharks.

The teacher asks students to read the text quickly and match each paragraph with the main idea and then check the answers.

Scanning

 

 

The teacher asks  students to read for the second time and find more details and then check the answers.

 

The teacher provides students with some pictures and guides students to think about other reasons that might make the sharks endangered.

Step 5 

After Reading

 

 

 

Activity 1:

The teacher asks students to think and discuss with their partner: What can we do ? and then share their ideas.

 

 

Activity 2:

The teacher asks students to exchange the roles.Role-play and act them out in groups with full feelings!

 

 

 

Activity 3:

The teacher calls on people to give the fins back to sharks and asks students to protect all kinds of endangered animals.

The students use their knowledge and imagination to make a short role-play and act them out in groups with full feelings!

教学反思

本教学设计关注语篇意义和文本特征,制定了合理的教学目标并根据目标设计了逐层递进的教学活动。教学围绕保护鲨鱼这一主题,课程遵循从阅读到思考再到表达这一教学流程进行设计。在学生了解文章事实说明的基础上,进行思考,思考内容贴近学生生活实际,使学生乐于参与课堂。最后,进行自我观点的表达,进行语言能力的输出运用。在此过程中对学生进行教育的渗透,培养学生的英语学科核心素养。总之,本节课在如何让学生独立建构和解读文本意义方面仍然有更多的提升空间。
